column graph

This is the name given to one possible form of presenting statistical information.

Rectangular bars of equal width are drawn to show the size of each value. The length of the bars is in proportion to the frequency. The bars can be vertical or horizontal, and there is a space between each bar.

For example, Edward asks 20 people what their favourite day of the week is.

He records the answers in a frequency table, and presents them in a column graph.

Other names for column graph are bar graph and bar chart.
