theoretical probability
This is the term for predicting how often a specific result will happen if an experiment is repeated a specific number of times.
We use the ratio
P (event) = (number of specific results)/(number of possible results)
to calculate the theoretical probability of an event ‘P’ happening.
For example, Jack throws a 10p piece.
The theoretical probability of Jack throwing a head is 1/2.
