random sample

This is the name given to a sample in which every person or every piece of data has the same probability of being selected.

1000 people use a specific shop’s website every day, and we need to ask 50 of them about their opinion of the service. One way of choosing 50 individuals is to number each of the 1000 people as follows:

    000, 001, 002, 003, … 999.

After doing this, 50 three-number digits can be chosen at random so that the random sample can be undertaken.
