Gair arall am bwerau yw indecsau.

Mae lluosi ag indecsau yn syml. Y rheol yw adio’r indecsau.

Er enghraifft:

    2³ × 2⁴
= (2 × 2 × 2) × (2 × 2 × 2 × 2)
= 2³⁺⁴
= 2⁷

Mae rhannu ag indecsau yn syml hefyd. Y rheol yw tynnu’r indecsau.

Er enghraifft:

   2⁵ ÷ 2²
= (2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2)/(2 × 2 )
= 2^5-2
= 2³
